Responsible ownership
What responsible ownership asks of you day to day, at home, and in public.
Florida Concealed Carry Training
Onyx Defence does not focus only on meeting minimum training requirements. Our goal is to help students become educated, responsible, and more comfortable with their decision to own and carry a firearm.
Your path to completion
Step 1
Start by completing your student registration information. This provides the information needed to prepare your training and certification records.
Next: Online video training
Part One
Complete the concealed carry video training before moving on to your knowledge check and hands-on range session.
Complete the training series before continuing to the Knowledge Check.
Step 3
Finished the online training? Complete the knowledge check based on the material covered in the training series. This is an Onyx Defence training quiz — not a state licensing exam.

Armed & Educated
A continuing educational resource students can reference during and after training — covering responsible ownership, safety habits, secure storage, and staying current. It is a supporting resource, not a licensing requirement.
Part Two — Hands-on range training
After completing the online preparation, you complete the hands-on portion of the training with an instructor. Range time focuses on applying what you studied, safely and at your own pace.
Philosophy
Meeting a minimum requirement is not the same as being prepared. Onyx Defence training emphasizes education, responsible firearm ownership, safe handling, confidence, situational awareness, secure storage, and continued learning.
The goal is not simply to complete a class. The goal is to help students better understand the responsibility that comes with firearm ownership and carrying a firearm.
Curriculum
Course content is adapted to the group and the format. Topics commonly covered include:
What responsible ownership asks of you day to day, at home, and in public.
The core safety rules, why they exist, and how to apply them consistently.
Loading, unloading, clearing, and moving with a firearm in a controlled way.
Storage habits and options that keep firearms secure from unauthorized access.
Noticing, assessing, and avoiding — decision-making before anything escalates.
Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and range etiquette.
How Florida concealed-carry course requirements are commonly structured and where to verify current rules.
Building a practice plan so skills and judgment stay current after class.
Step 5
After successfully completing the applicable training requirements, students receive the appropriate training documentation from Onyx Defence.
Onyx Defence provides firearms education and training. The State of Florida controls licensing eligibility, requirements, applications, approvals, and denials.
Firearm and concealed-carry laws can change. Verify current requirements directly with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) before applying.
Choose one-on-one instruction, a private group, or an on-site session for your organization. Scheduling is confirmed directly after your request, including format, location, and course requirements.
